Just a few teams braved Newton Lake. For those who didnt make the tournament, it was a
beautiful day with water and air temps in the low 70's. The bass were biting but only 1 team
culled any fish our champs BART and PRONG. A limit of 6 bass and 15 lbs smoked the
competition. While Rodney and Weas caught a bunch of fish most were pretty small and
ended up with close to 7 lbs. Belmont beat the rest of the field with 2 keepers pushing

1st Place:Jeff Chris S 6.12 lbs
2nd Place: Rodney Chris B 6.7 lbs
3rd Place: Mike Jeremy 6.2 lbs
Big Bass Donnie 5.8 lbs
8 Boats and 12  anglers caught 12   Bass totaling 41  lbs
Details:  Hot and HOTTER! Water temps in the upper 80's and even low 90's in some places
made it a real tough day. Very few good fish were caught with no limits or even close to a
limit. Everyone caught fish but the 16 inch minimum length limit made it tough to get a
keeper.  It turned out to be a battle of 2 fish per boat with Chris and Jeff easing  away from
the field with 6.12lbs. Rodney and Chris also landed 2 keepers but came up a few ounces
short with 6.7 lbs followed close by Mike and Jeremy at 6.2lbs. The big bas almost landed in
the money on weight alone with Donnie landing a 5.8 for big fish. Stay cool guys see ya in
Jacksonville!!!

Details:
Dam butt whippin at Jacksonville. Alex and Gregg put the rest of us to shame getting a SOLID limit
of 21.8 lbs crushing the rest of the field. BUT, Belmont and Al gave them a small battle with a solid 6
fish limit at 14.2 lbs followed by the twins Dan and Weasel sneaking in the 3rd place  money with a 6
fish limit of 12.12
Alex and Gregg whacked a real nice Bass for the big bass pot. It was 6.4 lbs. Awesome job
gentlemen and were rolling on the river the next few tournaments.
